Reset + Rebalance is a radical act of self compassion

My signature 1:1 coaching programme blends psychology, nutrition, and behaviour change science to make your life with type 1 diabetes lighter. It affords ample time and space for your experiences to be seen and heard, so you can be viewed as a whole person, not just a CGM data set.

We’re talking an immersive, comprehensive, and collaborative partnership with a 360° approach that always places you in the centre.

Experience person-centred, relational support across a 4 month timeframe.

The Beth Edwards Nutrition packages are designed for people with type 1 diabetes who want to receive invaluable 1:1 support, find peace with their diabetes, re-write their relationship with food, make hugely impactful lifestyle and dietary changes and reach a place of ‘being’ in the messiness of type 1 life.

These nutrition and lifestyle packages are up your street if you’re ready to make positive changes, and you recognise that making these shifts is not always easy, but so worthwhile. Whether you’re recently diagnosed, have lived with T1D for many years, or are a parent or carer of a T1D – this is for you.

4 MONTH SIGNATURE PROGRAMME

Welcome to Reset + Rebalance

Beth’s most impactful programme is 4 months of intentional, intimate, and immersive 1:1 work for t1ds who are ready to find acceptance with their condition, understand what their minds and bodies need to make t1d life easier, and step off that blood glucose rollercoaster.

Together, let’s move you from a place of feeling lost, unsure and second-guessing your T1D management - to finding balance, proactivity, and living in harmony with T1D (not fighting against it).

This bespoke programme will give you more confidence in your approach, reduce the reactivity and guesswork, and give you space to be seen and understood.

HIGH-TOUCH, PERSON-CENTRED PARTNERSHIP

By the end, you’ll understand your body’s unique requirements, identify your glucose patterns, have practical psychological tools to lean on when you hit a roadblock, and feel less alone in managing your condition

What other T1Ds are saying about Reset + Rebalance

Meet your friendly t1d nutritionist

Beth Edwards

I’m a BANT-registered nutritional therapist and a trainee health psychologist.

I’m utterly obsessed with putting type 1 diabetes on the map, holding space for people living with T1D, and uplifting their voices so that we can break free of the stigmas and isolation that often co-occur with this condition.

I’ve lived with T1D since I was 9, so this is support for T1Ds, by someone with T1D.

The one thing that unites my clients, whether they’re a childminder or a coffee roaster, is that they share a desire to live on their own terms, they want to be the best versions of themselves, and they refuse to settle for anything less than optimal health.

I help them make that happen and I can do the same for you.

Beth Edwards Nutrition Clinical Pillars

  • Personalised Nutrition

Nutrition is one of the most impactful tools we have to better manage our type 1 diabetes, and our health in general. But there are lots of mixed messages and noise out there. Your nutritional protocols will be developed to target your bioindividuality, and support your unique requirements. Everything is personal, no rinse and repeat protocols. I’ll provide nutritional education to empower you with evidence-based knowledge. No fads, no fuss.

  • Relational Psychology

What if your life with T1D got easier not because you ‘worked harder’ or only gained more knowledge, but because your experiences could be seen and heard, too? This is fundamental to the Beth Edwards Nutrition philosophy: partnership with me, and my stance of non-judgement and empathy. You’re doing the best you can. I will blend our work with potent behaviour change science and techniques, so you can make long-lasting, and sustainable change.

  • Self Care

Type 1 diabetes is a 24/7 condition that requires a mega amount of nutrients, energy, and focus from you. Regulating and supporting your nervous system is key to my approach, so we can learn to live alongside, or dampen down, the elevated vigilance (CGM beeps, anyone?) this condition develops in us. We’ll discuss stress management techniques, movement, sleep, breathwork, and taking imperfect actions, because I know 90-minute yin yoga classes are not always accessible.

  • Community + Collaboration

I've often thought that t1d is a tough gig, and a lonely one at that. But by talking about our type 1, we can break the silences that live in and around it. Community and collective care are key. Journey in the messiness with someone else. As your nutritionist and psychologist, I’ll also integrate with your diabetes team and GP, as we all bring different styles and support, and managing a complex condition like t1d is best done in collaboration.

As well as all this…

Initial Session + Assessment

Building on discussions from our intro call together, and the completion of a detailed health questionnaire, we’ll have our first session to dig deep, understand your goals, and capture your health journey to this point. We’ll cover everything from t1d challenges, presenting symptoms, family history, psychological factors, and lifestyle pieces to capture a thorough picture and detailed full case history. We’ll also discuss things like your digestion, stress management, energy levels, and your sleep.

Psychological Interventions

Fundamental to this work is psychological support, which will help you accept life with T1D, and not fight against it. My aim is to help you build psychological flexibility and resilience to make like with diabetes a little bit lighter. I can’t promise to take away the challenges of t1d, but I can teach you the tools to manage them with more ease.

Health Optimisation + Supplement Plans

Following the initial consultation, you’ll receive a personalised plan that gets updated after each session. There’s no one size fits all when it comes to nutrition, so expect a fully bespoke programme that’s tailored specifically to your needs. Each nutritional intervention is evidence-based and grounded in pragmatism so everything I recommend is actionable. We’ll go slowly, and build each time to create long-lasting health behaviour change. As well as advice, expect meditations, shopping lists, simple recipe ideas, educational handouts, and frameworks.

Ongoing CGM interpretation

You will be invited to my CGM online clinic (either Dexcom Clarity or LibreView) so you can share your glucose data with me in real-time. This offers a second pair of eyes that can support pattern spotting, and educate you on how to use these data to improve time in range and t1d goals.

Regular Coaching Calls

You will then meet with me every 2 weeks for our ongoing coaching sessions. These last 45 minutes and are the perfect opportunity for us to reflect together, monitor progress, unpick any challenges, and identify the next best steps. Typically, we will review your food diary together, review any recent test results, practise psychological interventions together, and add the next steps in your plan and journey. If anything isn’t working, now is the time we change it.

Unlimited WhatsApp + Email Support

Things will often crop up outside of sessions, and know that you are able to contact me for reassurance, advice, or support. This might be tweaking a recipe we’ve agreed to try, or reviewing a tricky night of blood sugars over email together, or celebrating your recent wins. I’m here for it all.

“Despite having T1D for over 30 years, working with Beth has been a really important moment in my care that will have long-lasting impact.”

— Jess, Reset and Rebalance participant

 FAQs

  • The programme is £1600, or £400 monthly instalments. This reflects the amount of contact you will have with me, the unlimited behind-the-scenes support, the multidisciplinary approach I take to your care.

    1. I have a food first approach to nutrition and would rather focus on nutritional principles than lots of supplements. However, there might be occasions when I recommend a certain supplement. This will be backed by robust research.

    2. My approach has soft edges, and it blends my expansive background in psychology, research, coaching, and advocacy. I’m not wedded to one psychological or nutritional modality, but instead meet you where you’re at. No rinse and repeat protocols in this clinic.

    3. Most important to my work is a prioritisation of the relationship between me and each client I work with. I honour this through offering ample space and connection, two things often missing or limited in usual T1D medical settings.

    4. I can’t guarantee any specific outcome for you (though I wish I could). For example, you may have an expectation of what working with me looks like in terms of success or achievement. That might be a lowered hba1c, or an improved food relationship, or another tangible goal. I'd love to guarantee that for you. Sadly there are no givens on that front. But what I can 100% guarantee you'll get working from me is connection, space, and a prioritisation of the relational. A space to look into the other. And to do this in collaboration with me.  And most times, if we prioritise the relational (a given), the other achievements can come later.

  • We come to the sessions on an equal footing.

I really value what you're bringing to the table. You are the expert of your body and your type 1 diabetes. I have my own experience that I can add and often do.

Fundamentally, this is why working with me as a partnership. This often shifts expectations around the power dynamic you may expect or have experienced in a different healthcare setting.

  • Absolutely! My clinic is virtual and all sessions are conducted over Zoom, so geography will never be a barrier to this work.

  • You bet, I often work with clients and adolescents and their families. Though I offer specific programmes for families which might suit you better. Contact me for details.

  • Only you will know if you’re ready to commit to this work and make time and space for it. From my perspective, I aim to be as flexible as possible by offering different time slots – I know how busy life can get! – and my recommendations will be completely tailored to you, your life and what is possible (FYI effective nutrition doesn’t need to be complex).

  • After years of clinical practice I know that long-term change takes time. There are no quick fixes, especially in the chronic health territory. Building in different habits, and dropping things that don’t serve you, is a process that takes time. I wouldn’t expect anyone to do that quickly. Plus, this work is about me holding space for you and the relationship between us. This takes time to build and grow, and I find works best over a period of months. Slow and steady, sustainable changes, for long-term health and glory.

  • Failure is quite a subjective concept. There isn’t a magic wand when it comes to nutrition work and I can’t guarantee that you’ll feel exactly the way you want to at the end of our sessions together. What I can promise you is that I’ll guide you to take action (the only way to see progress and change) and I’ll make my recommendations as realistic and doable for you. I’ll nudge you if you need it, and support you in the ways that best work for you. Making space to even consider doing Reset and Rebalance is already a pretty good step in the right direction – I’d consider that a win already.
